What’s New on SSC JE 2026 Recruitment:
- This year, new posts titled “SSC Scientific Assistant” and “SSC JE (Telecom)” have been added for the India Meteorological Department (IMD) and Department of Telecommunications (DoT) respectively.
- As per notification, Paper I is now only qualifying, while final merit list will be prepared using Paper II marks only.
- There are now a total of 13 SSC JE departments. Four new departments have been added: DGLL, DoT, IMD and MoFAHD.

How to Apply Online for SSC JE Recruitment 2026?
The SSC JE 2026 application process is completed in two parts: One-Time Registration (OTR) and final form submission. Follow these steps to apply for SSC JE Recruitment via the official website:
Step 1: Visit Official Website
Go to the official SSC website at ssc.gov.in) and click on the “Apply” tab. Then select “Junior Engineer (JE) Examination 2026” from the list of active notifications.

Step 2: Complete One-Time Registration (OTR)
- Click on “New User? Register Now”
- Enter details like your Name, DOB, matriculation details, category, nationality, ID proof, mobile number, email ID
- Upload photograph (20–50 KB) and signature (10–20 KB)
- Submit to generate Registration ID & password

Step 3: Login to SSC Portal
Use the generated Registration ID and password to log in to your dashboard and access active applications.

Step 4: Open SSC JE 2026 Application Form
- Click on “Apply” → JE Examination 2026
- Select the post (Civil/Mechanical/Electrical) and choose your preferred exam centres.
Step 5: Fill Application Details
Enter the following details to fill the application form.

Step 6: Upload Documents
Now, upload your scanned photograph and signature in the prescribed format. For candidates applying via Reservation, upload category/disability certificates as well.

Step 8: Final Submit & Print
- Preview the complete form
- Click “Final Submit”

Note – Any mismatch in OTR or application details cannot be easily corrected later, so candidates must verify all entries before final submission.
SSC JE Eligibility Criteria 2026
To be eligible for SSC Junior Engineer post, candidates must hold a B.E./ B.Tech degree or a 3-year Diploma in Civil, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering. SSC JE Selection Process 2026
The SSC JE Selection Process consists of three stages: Paper 1, Paper 2 and Document Verification. Paper 1 is a Screening Test comprising objective-type MCQs, while Paper 2 is a subject-specific paper where candidates are required to attempt questions based on their chosen Engineering stream, from Civil, Mechanical or Electrical. SSC JE Paper 1 Exam Pattern 2026
SSC JE Paper 1 is an objective-type Computer-Based Test (CBT) comprising questions based on General Aptitude and Engineering-specific knowledge. The paper consists of three sections with a total weightage of 200 marks. SSC JE Paper 1 is qualifying in nature, meaning that its marks are not counted in the final selection. SSC JE Paper 2 is an objective-type Computer-Based Test (CBT) that evaluates candidates’ technical knowledge in their selected engineering discipline. It carries 300 marks and is used for preparing the final merit list. Candidates shortlisted through Paper 1 must appear for Paper 2 in the discipline selected during the application process.
