RRB JE Exam Date 2026 Out
The Railway Recruitment Board has announced the RRB JE Junior Engineer exam date 2026 on the official website. Applicants appearing in the exam are advised to keep track of important dates. As per the schedule, the exam is scheduled to be conducted on 27th, 28th and 30th October. Applicants appearing in the exam will be issued the RRB JE admit card in the login window. Changes As New RRB JE Recruitment Notice CEN 04/2026
On 19th August, the Railway Recruitment Board has uploaded the RRB JE/DMS/CMA corrigendum CEN 04/2026 at the official website https://www.rrbcdg.gov.in/. As per the notice, 35 CMA (Chemical & Metallurgical Assistant) Vacancy have been added, that leads to increase in total number of RRB JE 2026 vacancies 3993 to 4029. Previously, only Junior Engineer & DMS Vacancy has been announced. Now, candidates who have B.Sc. in Physics and Chemistry with at least 45% marks are eligible to apply for the RRB CMA Recruitment.

RRB JE Vacancy 2026
The Railway Recruitment Board has announced a total of 4029 RRB JE vacancies (under CEN 04/2026) for the new recruitment cycle. These posts are spread across 35 departments in the Electrical, Engineering, Mechanical, Signal and Telecommunication and Stores departments. What are the steps for RRB JE Apply Online 2026?
Candidates can complete the RRB Junior Engineer apply online by creating an account, filling in the application form, uploading the required documents till 13th September 2026. The process also includes live photograph capture and final submission of the application form.
Step 1: Create an Account
- Visit any official RRB website and open the RRB JE 2026 Apply Online link.
- Candidates who have already created an account for previous RRB CENs can log in using their existing credentials.
- New candidates should click on “Create an Account”.
- Enter an active mobile number and email ID. OTPs will be sent to both for verification.
- Authenticate your identity using Aadhaar or DigiLocker. This is recommended for easier verification.
- Submit the account creation details.
Important: Mobile number, email ID and chosen RRB details entered while creating the account cannot be changed later.
Step 2: Fill the Application Form
- Log in with your registered credentials, please.
- Select any one RRB from the options given.
- Select your choice of Railway Zones and the posts you are eligible for.
- Fill your personal and academic information as mentioned in your 10th / Matriculation / SSLC Certificate.
- Select your language preference for the CBT examination. The exam will be conducted in English, Hindi and 13 regional languages.

Step 3: Capture Live Photograph
RRB JE 2026 does not require candidates to upload a pre-existing passport-size photograph. A live photograph will be captured through a webcam or the front camera of a mobile phone. While capturing the photograph:
- Maintain a straight posture and look directly at the camera.
- Keep a neutral facial expression.
- Wear non-white, preferably dark-coloured clothing.
- Do not wear a cap, mask, spectacles, or glasses.
Step 4: Upload Required Documents
Candidates need to upload the documents specified in the application form.
- Signature: Black ink on white paper, JPG/JPEG, 30-49 KB, minimum 100 DPI, 140 × 60 pixels.
- SC/ST Certificate: Required only for candidates claiming a free Sleeper Class Railway Pass; PDF format, up to 400 KB, valid on the closing date.

Completion of the application process takes place once the exam fees have been successfully paid. These fees can be paid online using either Internet banking, debit/credit card or UPI.

RRB JE Exam Pattern 2026
The RRB Junior Engineer Exam Pattern 2026 consists of two Computer-Based Tests, CBT-I and CBT-II. CBT-I is the screening stage with 100 questions, while CBT-II carries 150 questions and includes 100 questions on technical abilities. Both stages have a negative marking of 1/3 mark for each incorrect answer.
